According to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), every accredited institution of higher education should establish an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure. It ensures the efficiency and effectiveness of measures are taken/methods used to provide high-quality education and evaluates the degree to which each task is fulfilled. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC will become a part of the institution’s system and work toward the realization of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance.
The quality assurance purpose IQAC has been established in the year 2014 under the direction of the Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. K. Murugan. Prof. Ernest David acted as the IQAC Director, for getting NAAC accreditation for our University. The first cycle of the NAAC accreditation awarded in the year 2018 with ‘B’ grade. Further, the University applied for reassessment in the next year to get good accreditation grade to attract more funds from UGC and other funding agencies. In this correction, University appeared for reassessment in the year 2020 and awarded ‘B+’ grade with CGPA – under the headship of the Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. S. Thamaraiselvi and the IQAC Director Prof. Dr. G. Thangaraj. Now the Present team under the headship of the Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. T. Arumugam and the IQAC Director Dr. M. Chitra is determined to improve the grade and also to apply for NIRF.
