About the Centre
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has been established as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure for performance evaluation, assessment, accreditation, and quality up-gradation of institutions of higher education. According to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), every accredited institution of higher education should establish an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure. It ensures the efficiency and effectiveness of measures are taken/methods used to provide high-quality education and evaluates the degree to which each task is fulfilled. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC will become a part of the institution’s system and work toward the realization of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance.

- AQAR - Preparation and Documentation.
- Uploading document details to NAAC.
- Conducting quality enhancement programs in campus and out campus.
- Scrutinizing and recommendation for CAS promotions for teaching faculty.
- Collecting feedback from various state holders.
- The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) accessed information from various academic and administrative departments, committees and organizations on current activities and monitored the progress of Thiruvalluvar University.
- The IQAC played an active role in internalizing a culture of quality within Thiruvalluvar University. This culture is maintained and sustained by several initiatives taken by the cell through the year.
- IQAC had insisted to conduct workshops on placement industry and other concern for the students with help from the placement cell of the University and the University – industry interface cell
- The IQAC is pleased to report increase in the number of students getting placements in the industry, and also the increase in number of visiting industries for hiring to the University.
- IQAC framed parameters and bench marks for quality assurance and exploring new avenues for quality enhancement.
- The IQAC of the University has taken adequate initiatives for quality enhancement in the academic and co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

History
The quality assurance purpose IQAC has been established in the year 2014 under the direction of the Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. K. Murugan. Prof. Ernest David acted as the IQAC Director, for getting NAAC accreditation for our University. The first cycle of the NAAC accreditation awarded in the year 2018 with ‘B’ grade. Further, the University applied for reassessment in the next year to get good accreditation grade to attract more funds from UGC and other funding agencies. In this correction, University appeared for reassessment in the year 2020 and awarded ‘B+’ grade with CGPA – under the headship of the Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. S. Thamaraiselvi and the IQAC Director Prof. Dr. G. Thangaraj. Now the Present team under the headship of the Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. T. Arumugam and the IQAC Director Dr. M. Chitra is determined to improve the grade and also to apply for NIRF.
Annual Reports
- Scrutinizing and recommendation for CAS promotions for teaching faculty in the year July 2023.
- Collecting feedback from PG students from all Departments for the year 2022-2023.
- The IQAC played an active role in internalizing a culture of quality within Thiruvalluvar University. This culture is maintained and sustained by several initiatives taken by the cell through the year.
- IQAC conducted a workshop with collaboration of centre for Human Resource Development (HRD), Thiruvalluvar University in the year 2022. Also IQAC conducted One Day Workshop on NAAC and NIRF Documentation 2023.
